Data Engineer

November 2022 - Present

  • During the company's transition from a startup to a mature enterprise, I ended up becoming the subject matter expert and the lead developer for the automated data pipelines written in Azure Data Factory and T-SQL that effectively processed telemetry for over 3GW of operational renewable energy assets through advanced time series signal processing techniques, consistently reducing data processing times and optimizing database performance.
  • Proposed the strategic migration of the analytical infrastructure from fragmented Azure resources to the unified Microsoft Fabric architecture, mitigating architectural risks and enhancing overall scalability.
  • Directed the modernization of data processing logic, transitioning legacy Azure SQL databases to a modern big data stack: PySpark/SparkSQL processing and modular dbt models, all orchestrated by Fabric pipelines and on top of a Delta Lake storage architecture in Microsoft Fabric's OneLake.
  • Authored comprehensive functional and technical specifications via Product Backlog Items (PBIs), translating complex product requirements into actionable engineering tasks for a cross-functional data team following Scrum methodology.
  • Database architecture, data engineering logic, AI/ML integrations, infrastructure, product ownership on asset management module... everything everywhere all at once, whatever needed.
Data Analyst Intern

November 2021 - November 2022

  • Developed interactive Power BI dashboards and advanced T-SQL queries within Microsoft Azure to extract actionable insights, directly supporting renewable energy asset management and operations.
